Leicester’s season of festivals got under way today with MONSFEST

The neighbourhood of Eyres Monsell, in Leicester, saw the third community festival – MONSFEST – take place today. Music formed part of the day’s activities with artists rapper Ricky C, singers Dan Pool and Sam Beach, and local performers Lloyd, Aaliya and Oli appearing on the sound stage. There was a performance by The Dreamettes, a dance group from the local area.
The festival was organised by Wayne Natzel, who was behind the previous events in 2012 and 2011
Local people enjoyed dry weather and the rides and displays taking place on the day. The event, held on Eyres Monsell Park, saw a display by Savage Skills, the freestyle mountain bike stunt team.
The Savage Skills bike display team performed some seriously amazing stunts.
