Preview – Black Water County + Greenman Rising + The Hardy Band at Duffy’s Bar, Friday 19th April 2019

This Friday sees a heck of a gig in Leicester’s proudly independent Duffy’s Bar as high octane Bournemouth folk punksters, Black Water County, take to the stage in what is sure to be a riotous performance. Best described as female fronted Flogging Molly, the five piece wear their Irish influences on their sleeves without hesitation while absorbing the influences of classic English alt-folk in the vain of the Levellers and Frank Turner.

Sharing the stage are wild Warwickshire collective Greenman Rising, playing their own brand of rebel rousing alternative folk and banging ceilidh with a difference. Beautiful ballads and full-on musical madness that’ll get you dancing the night away. Opening up the evening are local heroes and Music in Leicester favourites, The Hardy Band, ready to demonstrate a master class in Alt-Country. Beautiful harmonies combined with driving beats and soulful story-telling, The Hardys do what they do with such perfection, they are impossible not to love. This will be a Good Friday indeed.

Black Water County play Duffy’s Bar, Pocklington’s Walk on Friday 19th April. Doors from 7pm. Advance tickets are priced at £8 available from Ents24
