November’s City Link-Up Unsigned

Another line-up of quality artists took to the stage of the Music Cafe tonight for the November show organised by charity fundraising promoters City Link-Up Unsigned.
City Link-Up puts on shows on the last Thursday in each month, featuring artists from the Midlands and London and further afield. One thing you can be sure of, in these shows, is that all artists will be of high calibre.
The shows also raise awareness and support for the work of the charity that raises awareness and support for the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT).
The night was ably warmed up by Tanni Browne whose infectious enthusiasm for the music of Bob Marley always delights the audience. Tanni opened with the title song from his latest release Can’t get you outta my mind, available now on iTunes.
Tanni said “I am so impressed by the African and Caribbean community who come here on the last Thursday of the month to see artists who come here to shine.”

A fine singer Aadam Muhammad brought the delightful sounds of dance songs to the room. His confident performance was full of fizz, delivering a set of upbeat songs that raised the temperature on this cold November evening.

A stunning performance came from singer Laura Hill whose voice had an amazing range. Laura’s set included covers from well known artists alongside some of her own, original works, including her version of Alicia Key’s How Come You Don’t Call Me, which raised strong acclaim from the audience.
A 21 year old rapper from Oxford showed off his skills – YungStarfmg – who said that he had been off the scene for a while but is now making a come-back. His fast raps were delivered with verve and accuracy and some of his lyrics presented real moments.

Birmingham’s Euphemia Ellison filled the room with her beautiful voice capturing the audience with her appealing stage presence. An artist with plenty of vibrancy and and personality, Euphemia kept the quality high with her set.

Originating from Manila, Philippines and now in Leicester, Jeth Infinite plied the hall with his mixture of pop, hip-hop and R ‘n’ B songs with which he made his mark on the night. Jeth writes and records all his own songs, having produced more than 25 music videos since 2012.

Kai Jones (from London) was on stage too, singing and rapping some of her own songs. Kai is a recording artist and songwriter.

Leicester’s well-known rap artist who goes by the name of KY is one of the long standing and successful artists in the hip-hop genre. Kyle has appeared at a previous City Link-Up and it was good see him back tonight, providing his hall-mark performance of powerful raps. Delivered with considerable presence, Kyle showed what he does – a set of tuneful and listenable songs delivered with his characteristic aplomb.
