Music at Abbey Park
Despite rain and high winds, over 15,000 people turned out to see the Fireworks at Abbey Park on Saturday.
Before the rockets went up, a lineup of artists kept the spectators entertained.

At one point it looked like the stage and sound control tent might end up in the sky with the fireworks, as a force 6 gale threatened the stage and sound systems. Happily, the show went on.
Leicester artist Jonezy performed a set of his own songs.
Even though those packed against the crush barriers had not seen him before, Jonezy soon had them waving their arms, clapping along to the beats and singing songs back to him. Getting people involved in the music in one of the things that the 23 year old rapper does best.
Another local hip-hop artist Curtis Clacey also wow’d the crowd with a set of his own songs.
The highlight of the show, for many in the crowd, (some of whom had been waiting since 7 am to get a glimpse of their idols) was the new indie band The Vamps, whose single release Can We Dance was in the charts last week at number 2.
It was lucky for Leicester that the band had agreed to play at the Fireworks just as they were about to start their meteoric rise to stardom, given that they released their first song only in July this year.
Jonezy will be appearing with Melton band Strike Up The Colours at the O2 Academy on Friday.
