Christmas celebrations were in full swing at Resin\u2019s annual Christmas party!<\/p>\n

Resin Events hosted their seventh Christmas party at Firebug on Saturday, 22nd December 2018. Simon Yarwood, joint founder member of Resin<\/strong>, annually hosts the event to celebrate the festivities. This year, there were four bands who put on a show for the crowd.<\/p>\n

Chambers<\/strong> warmed up the crowd by opening up the festival. Whilst they specify their genre as \u2018their own\u2019, they definitely brought a more rock-infused style to their performance. A highlight included their rendition of Santa Claus is Coming to Town<\/em>, getting everyone in the spirit for the holidays.<\/p>\n

Cadence Noir<\/strong> were one of the more \u2018out-there\u2019 bands of the night, just see their song titled \u2018F*** F*** Boom Boom<\/em>\u2019. They released their newest album \u2018Physical Copy\u2019 the day of the festival which gave them the opportunity to perform lots of their new material live. One member of the audience even described their sound as \u2018jig music on acid\u2019.<\/p>\n

Fractions<\/strong> provided one of the heaviest performances of the night. They gave a high energy performance that got the crowd going. The band have an EP called \u2018Forces\u2019 out, and we look forward to their upcoming release which is said to be released in 2019.<\/p>\n

Closing the show were the hosts Resin<\/strong>, the headliners the audience were waiting for. It was refreshing to see a woman play such an intricate role in a rock band in such a male-dominated genre. The band showed how a variety of instruments, like the violin, can be incorporated successfully all together. They drew in the biggest crowd and ended the show on a high.<\/p>\n

As 2018 draws to an end, most of the bands performed their last gig of the year. Many are promising new music for 2019, so there are many more performances on the way \u2013 and hopefully another Resin Festival next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
