with Metal Artois and Ten Days Later<\/h2>\n

On Mother’s Day Sunday fellow metal heads joined forces in Firebug for the annual Metal 2 The Masses, which will get a lucky band a spot on the Bloodstock Line Up.<\/p>\n

This heat was opened by Metal Artois<\/strong> who really brought in the fun and energy with a twenty-minute setlist filled with powerful and entertaining songs, a personal highlight of the whole set was the metal kazoo, which eventually culminated into an epic kazoo solo. Overall Metal Artois Later were a fantastic way to start the show with their eccentric style and fun-filled music.<\/p>\n

Once Metal Artois had the crowd excited with their showmanship and the amazing metal kazoo, Ten Days Later<\/strong> took over with impressive guitar work and hard drums. They absolutely smashed the entirety of their set even though there were slight microphone issues at the beginning, which led to some ear piercing sounds for the crowd.<\/p>\n

However, this small hurdle did not stop the band from delivering an amazing and heavy show. Overall Ten Days Later were a band that others on the local scene should be on the lookout for.<\/p>\n

Sadly, the next band on the bill One Still Standing had to pull out last minute due to the hospitalization of their guitarist. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see them next year at M2TM.<\/p>\n

Next up we had Dawn of Anubis<\/strong> (who won the vote and made it to the next round once again) they were runners-up last year and still made it onto the Bloodstock Open Air bill. We also got the opportunity to interview and chat to the band themselves who proved themselves to be a bunch of lovely individuals with a true passion for music (see link below).<\/p>\n

Once again, they did not fail to deliver a fast paced, energetic show, which at this point is no surprise to people who have seen them live. They took the time which they were given and performed to a crowded room, everyone seemed to enjoy and appreciate their set. Dawn of Anubis are a fantastic modern rendition of everything loved in the metal genre and hopefully we will be seeing more of them in the future.<\/p>\n
