Kicking off Saturday were the local Viking legends Blood Oath<\/strong><\/a> who even though had the earliest spot of the day made the most of it and delivered a spectacular show. Personally I would have loved to see them later on in the evening, but other than that they delivered a phenomenal show which was loved by the entire crowd.<\/p>\n

Next up were Garganjua<\/strong> <\/a>and I am not going to lie to you, they are positively not my thing as I find any form of Doom Metal too long and always find myself wishing songs would just get to the point in a sense. However, personal lack of patience for doomy songs aside I did find myself enjoying the talent and skill which Garganjua showcased during their set.<\/p>\n

The sub-headliners of the evening were Leicestershire based Mage<\/strong><\/a>. They are self-described as riff centric stoner\/doom\/metal and they definitely delivered on all of those fronts. I personally found myself enjoying Mage more than any other doom band which I have ever listened to, their performance and powerful vocals had me genuinely shocked at how much I could actually enjoy certain types of doom metal.<\/p>\n

Finally for the evening we had Raging Speedhorn<\/strong><\/a> who, much to my enjoyment brought us the first and biggest pits of the weekend. They managed to really get the crowd going after two relatively chilled out sets and you could really feel the electricity through the room as they performed. Overall Raging Speedhorn were definitely the highlight of the evening.<\/p>\n
