Kasabian coming home<\/h1>\n

Kasabian<\/strong>, one of the UK\u2019s best and biggest bands, are set to play a massive headline show at Victoria Park in their Leicester hometown on Saturday 21st<\/sup>\u00a0June 2014. Without doubt, this will be one of the highlights of next year.<\/p>\n

Currently holed up in a studio recording their fifth LP, Vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews will play the first ever show staged at Leicester\u2019s Victoria Park bringing their hit-laden set list to the place where it all began. It will be the first time the band have played in the UK since their incendiary headline slot at Queen Elizabeth Park this summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Serge Pizzorno says: \u2018<\/span><\/span>We are hugely honoured to be playing in our home town at such an incredible setting right in the heart of the city. It’s a happening we’ve been planning for years. Summer solstice is coming; set the controls for the heart of the sun\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Live Nation\u2019s Andy Copping says <\/span><\/span>“Having worked with Kasabian from the very early days, it has been my dream to stage a really big “homecoming” show for them. The band are very proud of Leicester and this means more to them then any other show they have ever played. Having liaised with the local authority over the last few years to see if it was possible, I am overjoyed that we are finally a<\/span><\/span>ble to make it happen. I really hope that the people of Leicester will g<\/span><\/span>et behind this event and celebrate the success of one of their own.”\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Leicester City Mayor Peter Soulsby said: “Leicester is incredibly proud of K<\/span><\/span>asabian and we are delighted to host this homecoming concert to celebrate\u00a0<\/span><\/span>these local heroes. There can be no doubt that this will be one of the musical highlights anywhere in the country next summer.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from cementing their reputation as one of the planet\u2019s best live acts, they have established themselves through four albums \u2013 three of which went straight in the UK charts at number 1 – as one of the best and most innovative British rock bands ever with a slew of memorable singles including \u2018Processed Beats\u2019, \u2018Club Foot\u2019, \u2018L.S.F\u2019, \u2018Empire\u2019, \u2018Shoot The Runner\u2019, \u2018Fire\u2019, ‘Underdog’, ‘Days Are Forgotten’ and ‘Velociraptor’, \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>Already, 2014 looks like it belongs to them.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
