Leicester’s season of festivals got under way today with MONSFEST<\/h2>\n

The neighbourhood of Eyres Monsell, in Leicester, saw the third community festival – MONSFEST – \u00a0take place today. Music formed part of the day’s activities with artists rapper Ricky C, singers Dan Pool and Sam Beach, \u00a0and local performers Lloyd, Aaliya and Oli\u00a0appearing on the sound stage. There was a performance by The Dreamettes, a dance group from the local area.<\/p>\n

The festival was organised by Wayne Natzel, who was behind the previous events in 2012 and 2011<\/p>\n

Local people enjoyed dry weather and the rides and displays taking place on the day. \u00a0The event, held on Eyres Monsell Park, saw a display by Savage Skills, the freestyle mountain bike stunt team.<\/p>\n
