Their dynamic performances blend gypsy rhythms, punk energy, ska grooves, and folk storytelling, creating a unique and infectious sound that captivates audiences. Their reputation for delivering “raucous,” “infectious,” and “captivating” shows has made them a staple in the Midlands’ live music scene. They’ve got this wild blend of folk-punk, gypsy, ska, and rock, and their live shows are more like full-blown parties than typical concerts. Think costumes, dancing, audience banter, and an atmosphere that just pulls you in.”

So, if we are to take AI’s word for, the ragtag bunch of musicians hailing from England, Ireland, the USA and Poland are a band that must been seen. Yet, this is not as easy as one may expect. The Thieves have been on semi-hiatus for the last number of years with band members living all of the world and pursuing other musical projects, they now only play a few carefully selected shows each year. Luckily, for local Leicester music lovers, this coming May, there is an opportunity to see the band not once, but twice. The Brandy thieves were hand selected to perform at the awarding winning Bearded Theory Festival at Catton Park, Derbyshire. The festival will see the local act share the stage with the Godfather of Punk, Iggy Pop, Welsh indie stalwarts The Manic Street Preachers and electronic pioneers Leftfield and many more popular artists.

However, for those prefer to see the band make their beautiful racket in a much more intimate setting, the Brandy Thieves will also be performing a special festival warm-up show in the limited capacity Duffy’s Bar.
