IWBARS at The Shed<\/h1>\n

We sent to see I Wanna Be A Rockstar at The Shed.<\/p>\n

The Arcadians<\/strong>, from Burton On Trent, opened the show. The indie band got the night off to a bouncy start and went on to provide a set of lively \u00a0songs. Pushing out plenty of rhythm and beats, despite their bass playing being absent, their set won them a place in the semi-finals of the competition.<\/p>\n

Leicester’s Flying Kangaroo Alliance<\/strong> is a busy band that is much in demand at local gigs and no less so tonight. With a strong performance from lead \u00a0singer Meri Everitt the band delivered a very enjoyable set, armed with their mascot the actual flying Kangaroo. The band has an album out now and \u00a0sang songs from it at tonight’s show.<\/p>\n

Prog rockers Phoenix Salvation<\/strong> gave us a set of atmospheric songs that were not short on character and verve. They certainly knew how to work up \u00a0some beats and stunning guitar parts to back the robust vocals of singer Joe Evans.<\/p>\n

Leicester’s Terrace<\/strong> started with a big upbeat song, lead by vocalist Daniel Ansell; a boisterous performance and likeable set of songs throughout the set provided a strong conclusion to the night.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile downstairs in the basement, Leicester legendary punkers First Wave<\/strong> put on a scorching performance. Frank Cheshire commented “Rock n roll Valhalla has to be one of the best songs by a punk band”. Seeing First Wave was added bonus on a good night of music.<\/p>\n
