Music in Leicester<\/em> welcomes contributions, articles, news, photos, press releases and reviews from people who have something to say about music in the areas of Leicester city and Leicestershire county.<\/p>\n

Coverage is given to bands from outside these areas if they are playing here.<\/p>\n

We welcome two kinds of contributors:<\/p>\n

Regular writers<\/strong> who want to offer reviews of live music, write about a specific topic (in the form of a column, which can be created) or people who are able to prepare copy on a weekly or monthly basis.<\/p>\n

Ad-hoc<\/strong> writers who want to submit articles on a one-off basis.<\/p>\n

Photos and images can be sent in. This is best done by email (see below.)<\/p>\n

Copy can be prepared using a word processing package. \u00a0In fact, articles are best prepared using a simple text editor. Even if you send in your copy as a document attachment (such as \u00a0.doc or .docx or .odt), it will be converted to a plain text format (.txt) before it is pasted into the website’s pages or posts. All contributions are checked by an editor for style and grammar before they are published.<\/p>\n

Images of any kind have to be converted to the right size before they are inserted into a piece. Most images are placed in our site’s media library, particularly if they might be used on more than one page. Occasionally, images can be inserted from external links to sites such as Facebook, Google or other types of accounts. This will depend on the quality of the image. Images submitted must be compliant with copyright regulations.<\/p>\n

Videos on YouTube can be inserted using the code that is provided.<\/p>\n

Press releases may be sent directly to editor @ musicinleicester.co.uk<\/p>\n

No fees<\/strong><\/p>\n

The publishers of Music in Leicester<\/em> regret that they cannot pay for contributions of any kind. \u00a0This website is not-for-profit and we do not derive any surplus from its publication. Contributions can be accepted only on a voluntary basis.<\/p>\n
