The Shed<\/h2>\n

Tonight at The Shed we saw:  The Chase, Before The Crash, Velocity and Four Point Oh.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s show was put together by LC Promotions<\/strong>, who had assembled a solidly good line-up of complementary acts.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s show got off to a good start. The opening song by The Chase<\/strong> featured strong vocals from 17 year old Tyler Heaney backed by energetic rhythms from the band. We saw this band on 12th January [Music in Leicester<\/a>] and wrote:<\/p>\n

Young band The Chase come over from Nottingham to play for us. The three lads (all teenagers) performed a really good set of rock \u2018n\u2019 roll and indie songs that combined melodic vocal lines with crackingly good guitar solos… With good vocal lines from singer Tyler Heaney, backed by the guitarist and also the drummer, their set ticked all the boxes, as far as I am concerned. I really liked what they did and, given I had not seen them before, they was an impressive achievement.  I would certainly want to see them again because, as a band, they played good music and I really enjoyed their set and I think the rest of the room also did.<\/p>\n

A young band with an impressive performance and enjoyable songs, they gave us a nicely varied set. A remarkably mature set, from a band that is clearly musically well-educated. A talented group of teenagers, they have an EP coming out soon. A band that is well worth seeing; am sure they will want to play in Leicester again soon and to work up a fan base here.<\/p>\n

A band that has really been making its mark recently is Leicester’s Before The Crash<\/strong>. The band will be performing at the Glastonbudget Festival in May. Tonight they were driven forward by an animated performance by lead singer Shezza Wileman with additional vocals from guitarist Hayden Hodgkinson. Their songs packed plenty of punch, whether playing their own songs or covers. Before The Crash is a band that had come a long way since they first started to play and  Shezza Wileman put in a lot of vigour and excitement into her singing.<\/p>\n

\"Velocity<\/a>
Velocity at The Shed, 2015<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Velocity<\/strong> opened their set with a well-known cover – Black Sabbath’s Paranoid<\/em><\/a> – a good choice to get a set going. The band’s lead singer – Fionna Newbold  – put on a sparkling performance. They followed this up with Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train<\/em>. They brought the song to life with stunning guitar work by Darren Moulds and vehement drumming from Carl Johnson.  A seriously good band, they owned the stage and delivered a fizzingly good set. Their take on Bon Jovi’s You Give Love a Bad Name<\/em> saw the band in full flow and this went down a storm with the crowd. Their rendition of Ninety Nine Red Balloons<\/em> was rocked up rotten. Also on their set-list were some of their own songs. They are not just a covers band. There are just so many things about this band which are right. The finished their set with Guns ‘N Roses’s Sweet Child ‘O Mine<\/em> – a cover which they made their own.<\/p>\n

\"Four<\/a>
Four Point Oh at The Shed<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Backed by an eight-lamp production lighting rig and smoke machine, Four Point Oh<\/strong> made their ‘come back.’ I say come back; the band formed in the summer of 2011 and have been going strong ever since, a few changes in the membership notwithstanding. Now, the band comprises Oli Frost – Drums\/Piano\/Vox, Becky Woolman- Lead Vocals, Lewis Danes – Guitar, Ryan Humphreys – Bass, Oskie Wright – Guitar\/BVox, Lorenzo Morandi – Guitar. After a string of festival appearances and support slots at fairly big gigs, the band looks like it is back and tonight’s set showed that they are no less fuelled than before. They are still one of the premier exponents of hard rock in this city and what did tonight was every bit as exhilarating as before. It was a magnificent performance, with fans forming mosh circles and some of those moments that make rock music what it is.<\/p>\n
