Humberstone Gate<\/h1>\n

was the setting for an outdoor event that saw two well known Leicester artists performing to a very large crowd of people.<\/p>\n

On stage today were Jonezy<\/strong>, the music artist and rapper and David Lewis<\/strong>, singer with the band Once Vagrant Souls<\/strong>. The event was Leicester @ The Cross, a celebration of the Christian festival of Easter, on this Good Friday.<\/p>\n

Filing the whole of Humberstone Gate, the crowd heard Jonezy performing his songs as part of the musical event at which a live band provided the accompaniment.<\/p>\n

As an artist Jonezy is well known for his Christian faith and has performed at Christian festivals around the UK. His songs about life, being stronger, his commitment to positive values and his uplifting lyrics have appealed to audiences in many settings and certainly scored a big hit with people at this celebration of Easter.<\/p>\n

Singer and songwriter David Lewis had written songs especially for the event, for which he provided the lead vocals. The substantial band included keyboard, drums, saxophone, guitar, bass, violin and backing singers. Following the service, Jonezy also performed more of his songs, which were well received by the audience. Jonezy provided a vibrant and energetic set of his own songs, entertaining the audience, many of which would not have heard him before.<\/p>\n

Jonezy will be performing at The Shed on Sunday 27th March at 730pm as part of the finals show of Some Sort of Showcase<\/em>.<\/p>\n
