Park Bench Society played at Curve, Leicester’s flagship theatre.

The Loughborough quartet was back in Leicester with a set of really good musical offerings; the band’s three vocalists delivering a set of highly listenable songs, highlighted with the sounds of the Xylophone and Sax.

Arts in Leicester reported on their appearance at the Summer Sundae festival in 2012; I wrote: ‘They had developed their own individual sound and let their creative juices flow, preferring to do their own thing rather than follow comfortable conventions.’  They were also at Leeds and Reading Festivals that year.

Last November we joined PBS at the Musician for the launch of their second EP – Forest Gate
I talked to the group after their show.  They told me about the festivals they had been to and that they had been doing some recording.  They were at the Y Not festival this year and are looking forward to their forthcoming EP.

We still rate them as being one of the best local bands for the indie genre. Excellently talented.

An artist from London, Fifi Rong, played at the Hansom Hall. Fifi Rong, a unique singer, songwriter and producer, draws her influences from Post-Dubstep, Future Garage, Dub Reggae, Jazz and Chinese Folk, and performs her songs with electronic setup and/or acoustic instruments.

Fifi Rong supported Trip Hop legend Tricky on his Maxinquaye tour last year at Bristol Academy, Manchester Academy, and London O2 indigo, and this year’s UK concert at Heaven, London. She has recently done her own show in Germany, showcased at City Boutique Festival, Oxjam Festival Leicester and many other occasions and venues in the UK, and she is also planning a tour in Europe and China next year.
