Buskers to raise money for charity

Singing stars from Leicester are to gather at the Clock Tower this year to raise money for Shelter, the charity that supports homeless people.

On Christmas eve, the singers and musicians will gather at around 1 pm in the city centre to sing to the shoppers and rattle their tins.

in 2012 Si Clancy and Adam Dunmore led a group of singers and musicians in a fund raising busk-in at the clock tower. The group raised £196 for Shelter, the charity that helps homeless people.

The standard of  music was high and everyone had a great time singing for the public, bringing some festive music to add to the cheer of Christmas.

Apart from the usual seasonal carols, the group also sang a wide range of other songs. The response from the public was marvelous, some stopping to stand and listen for quite a long time, hearing music of unusually high quality.

Apart from singers, musicians can bring their guitars and other instruments to support the musical mix.
